For starters, there's all that jet fuel you burn getting there. It always strikes me as funny that I don't believe in the "global warming" myth, yet I'm the one who never owned an air conditioner, in part to help the environment.

That's because it is: the average temperature did go up between 1978 (the first year they count--the Earth was cooling off between 1948 and 1978) and 1998, but have stayed steady since then.
