I was a big SATC fan who has found herself really profoundly ambivalent about the movie. I thought that the series ended very well and it didn't really need anything else, especially if you watched the DVD version which allowed you to vicariously sample various alternate endings. Basically, you could pick your own ending.

As I've read different reviews, and your very entertaining conversation, my ambivalence has just solidified really. Carrie was never the marrying kind, right? I mean, wasn't that the whole crux of her disaster-ship with Aiden? Since Big clearly wasn't either, didn't that make them the perfect pair?

I think SATC captured a particular zeitgeist which made it very fun for a while. With the movie I can't escape the feeling of being handed a glass of flat champagne.
