The DNC didn't "end" the party...
by kenrockthefirst

... but Hillary might.

Everyone knew the rules, everyone agreed to the rules, and way back before the primary process began all of five months ago, when Hillary expected an easy path to her coronation, she had no problem with those rules.

Now that things haven't worked out according to the script, the Clinton penchant for my-way-or-the-highway, damn-the-torpedoes-full-speed-ahead, slash-n-burn approach to politics is on display for all to see, a vivid reminder of what was wrong with the Clinton administration and what we don't want to go back to.

But go ahead, Hillary, and have your temper tantrum, and doom the Democrats while your at it. Yer doin' a heckuva a job, Hillary.

Hillary is too smart for that, she will pull herself together and get behind Obama. She will do it for two reasons; she believes in the party's platform, and she knows that if Obama loses the election she will be blamed and her political future is doomed. She is also ambitious enough to want to play a role in the changing of the guard. She knows that if Obama is elected that Democrats will be strengthened on the Hill, and her own position strengthened. She likes power, better to share a part of it than have no part in any of it.

If Obama loses it, it's cause he couldn't win us over. Period.

And if Hillary gets the nomination and loses who gets the blame?

"And if Hillary gets the nomination and loses who gets the blame?"

Men. Those sexist, sexist men.

55% of the electorate is supposedly female. What do we call those women that vote for HIllary's opponent? In fact, most of the women that I know are completely disgusted with Hillary and her campaign tactics, and they say they would even vote for McCain if put in that position. Ickes sure lends her campaign a lot of class, doesn't he? NOT!!!

Ikes is a hypocrit...he uses the opposite arguement for his support of Hillary from the one he had when he was the DNC chairman...."rules are rules."

(I think his name suits him...Icky...)

I guess we do not have the same circle of friends. All of mine deplore the way Hillary is being treated and that includes Republicans.

Your friends must be elites. Mine are down to the earth people who believe in fairness.

Just out of curiosity, how is Hillary being treated? And what's unfair about the current process? Everyone, including Her Majesty, subscribed to the rules currently in force at the outset of the process. What's "fair" about demanding a change to those rules once Her Majesty's subjects didn't vote the way they were supposed to? I mean, why not just declare her the nominee as we were supposed to in the first place and be done with it?

BTW, for the purpose of full disclosure, I am not an Obama supporter. However, I don't like Hillary's bully-boy - oops, I must be sexist - tactics, as you can see.

would you mind pointing out where the Obama campaign has mistreated Hillary? If you could give me those links it really might make a difference to me.

Don't point out "Iron My Shirt" or the Hillary nutcrackers - those have been, and are, condemned by Obama, his campaign and his supporters.

Don't point out 'the media' because that is just a big, broad brush for anyone who can type into the internet.

Please give me specific links to Obama or Michelle or Axelrod or Plouffe mistreating Hillary. Not the people who got fired for being mean and calling her a monster. And not the idiot Phleger. But Obama.

Show me where in this entire Primary Obama has been vulgar, disdainful, misogynistic. Show me where he has brought up Bill's sexual pecadillos or his White House scandals. Show me where he has drawn attention to Hillary and Bill's personal life -- IN ANY WAY.

Just show me the links.

Because if you can make a link to anything the Obama campaign has done I will throw my full support behind all of your claims.

However, this being a free country with Internet access to all -- Obama cannot be held responsible for things that are said during this primary. His wife has been much more maligned than Hillary has, and Michelle isn't running for office.

So - please, if you have some links share them.

If Harold Ickes is for true reflection, then what's with that horrid comb-over.

Ha. Funny stuff. Especially that last part.

@ artand soul:

"I have never understood the appeal of a comb-over!"

That could be because comb-overs aren't appealing. They are an example of the self-deceptions, big and small, that we are all prone to.

Obama/Clinton 08!

I am not sure what a combover has to do with this conversation. You must be one of those guys lucky enough to keep your hair. I see nothing wrong with losing your hair.Bald is beautiful or something:o)

As to where I said anything about Obama mistreating Hillary, show me.I said nothing like that.

The MSM have been horrible to her.So much so that many of my die hard Republican friends are angry and intend to vote for her. How does that strike you?
