Obama is completely clueless on foreign policy
by Sgt_ROCK

On Obama's webpage, he states:

"We have not exhausted our non-military options in confronting the Iranian threat; in many ways, we have yet to try them. Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama would offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization."

But, the Wall Street Journal promptly handed him his ass on this:

<link>

"Perhaps Mr. Obama is unaware that one of Mr. Ahmadinejad's first acts was to freeze Tehran's efforts for securing WTO membership because he regards the outfit as 'a nest of conspiracies by Zionists and Americans.'"

What Obie actually means is that we have not yet tried surrender. In Liberal parlance, we should use surrender as a first option.......you know, before we fuck up and win the war.

Of course Iran would like to join the WTO, but knowing we would obstruct - what else are they going to say? If you had stopped for a minute and realized that Ahmadinejad is not much different than you (except for the funny hat and maybe a little smarter), you would have figured this out for yourself.

What Duc meant to say is that Ahmadinejad is not much different from him, Ducadmo, not you or me.

You misqouted

I did not say 'or I'. In my mind I have this big bucket, see, where I put all the intransigent idiots I meet. It's a big bucket, but if you dig around in there a bit, you can say hello to yourself.

Nah, Duc has finally decided that if he is ever going to be like me. he's going to have to start saying controversial shit.

Fritz tried being me for a while but he couldn't pull it off....I doubt that Duc will either but he stands a better chance than Gerlik did.

Funneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Duc actually has become unrecognizable, imho, in his rabid pro-Obama mode. 'Tis a pity, he was a great, GREAT poster before his Kool-Aid Konversion. Same with The Bell (never thought I would have occasion to write those words, ouch)...

where obama is coming from

i can understand obama's impulse to "talk with" iranian madman ahmadinejad (understand, but strongly disagree with)

look where obama is coming from: for 20 years he sat in that racist church, and heard reverend wright rant about the evils of america.

ahmadinejad and wright probably sound the same to obama, eh?

True, both Wright and Ahmadinejad have called for the destruction of America.

I wonder if Wright realizes that if God really does damn America, as Wright has suggested, Wright will most likely lose his $10 million house in that white neighborhood.

why take your lessons from fools, Jack?

You're spouting the neocon line from the likes of Feith and Ledeen, already discredited failures, and barely hanging on by their fingernails.

Rapproachment with Iran would be no different than what Nixon did with China, just on a smaller scale, but to the benefit of both countries, as well as the region. Just hard-headed, realistic, conservative foreign policy.

Nixon "surrendered" to the PRC, did he? Shoulda bombed em, eh? Well, there was a lot of that talk around back then, too. Made about as much sense, then, too.

Up or down? it's hard call. Up for spunk. Down for hysteria. Up for effort. Down for being creepy.

What's that spell? A wash, I guess.
