Bad news for Clinton
by Knute

The SUSA polls show that BHO does even better when some of the likely VPs (not HRC) are added to the equation. They show that Barack has some very good options, while McCain - not so much.

It's almost worse news for Hillary, since Edwards (and presumably Webb in VA or Richardson in NM) adds some real momentum to the Democratic ticket, even in the states that Hillary uses to make her case (OH, PA).

It seems that HRC (and Bill) have waited too long to make their case for the VP spot. Who would want them now that they've gotten so nasty?

I do not believe that she would ever accept the position. In terms of the election I think that it would help Obama. Not sure how those two would work together though.

My thoughts are that if I were on the list for VP I would pass on Obama. I think there is a good chance he loses and given the climate of the country that would be a big black mark on your record. If your are running with McCain I think it helps your position in the party. If McCain loses I think the Reps assume they had no chance any way and the VP got some exposure. If McCain wins then you are the VP and that obviously is good for your political career.
