Speilberg Craftwork - Russian Language
by Exploramental
As an interesting point on the level of craft work that Steven Spielberg puts into a movie, the Russian dialog in the film was shockingly accurate for the period and time. Most movies that include a foreign language will use English speakers giving lines in the foreign language. Amazingly, Spielberg used native Russian speakers, using idioms and slang that was period appropriate, down to regional dialects.

Pretty cool, eh?

Cool! I am not at all surprised (tho elated) to learn this.

My impression of this movie was that Spielberg definitely dotted all his 'i's and crossed his t''s (ludicrous tho vastly entertaining action set-pieces eg the refrigerator bit notwithstanding...)
