scrutinizing the "Christianitiness" of the wrong songs
by ghost
This shows how little the author was paying attention and the astounding chasm of ignorance she demonstrated with respect to Christianity. At least four in a row of Cook's songs were songs that are heavy on religious undertones. One group is an explicitly Christian group (Switchfoot). Two of the others have huge Christian followings because of the very recognizably christian messages of their songs (U2, Collective Soul). The fourth song I didn't recognize, but it seemed to have some lyrics about faith.

Adding to that the fact that there are multiple clips on youtube of Archuleta singing the entire song, and that he explained himself that he only had time for one and liked the third verse of the utterly Marxist tune best. It's amazing how much mileage the LA times blogger got out of poor speculation based on the fact that Archuleta is Mormon. For God's sakes.

For gods sakes. It's supposed to be a funny article!
Was that "Ha ha" funny?

As in "ha ha" funny, or weird funny? Yes, she was attempting to be tongue-in-cheek, but the least she can do is imbue her facetious analogy with a modicum of plausibility. But instead the article falls flat and justifiably reaps derision.
