So who was it?
by tonto_goldberg

She says it wasn't her and he says it wasn't him. A police officer said he recognized the "girl" from a "previous investigation" and the judge got all bent out of shape because the officer was supposed to say "interview" rather than "investigation".

Why was the judge so fussy about the potential double jeopardy issue?

This is happening in Chicago, right? A city with the same kind of reputation for quality police work as, say, Los Angeles, right?

Will this be another O.J. Simpson-style failed effort to frame a guilty man?

Inquiring minds don't care very much.

"Will this be another O.J. Simpson-style failed effort to frame a guilty man?"

Does this suggest a fascinating tell-all book entitled "IF I peed on her?"

I believe it would be called "IF I Did Her."

Huh?

There's another obvious title "You would too!" ..... but I don't think I will want to buy any of them.

Chicago is probably more corrupt than LA. It's been that way for probably the entire history of Illinois. People should think about that when they are considering Obama.

I can give 1000's of examples of corruption in Illinois politics, government, judicial system and with the police. It's just the way things get done.

However, that doesn't mean that it's in anyone's best interests politically to let R Kelly slide, so he might just get a fair trial.

Hmmmm, I thought it would take longer for some shill to link R. Kelly and Obama.
Re: So who was it?

why not link chicago and obama? he lives there, right? he was a congressman and now the senator who represents that district, doesn't he? he practiced law in the same judicial system, didn't he? it is his tribe, isn't it?

maybe st obama can do for the whole country what he has done for chicago. valid questions and i'm sure senator mccain will make that point as he should.

I am not a shill and THERE IS A CONNECTION to Obama and Illinois politics. Believe that in Illinois, it's discussed on a regular basis. There is nothing, not a thing, wrong with looking at past performance in politics as an indicator of what's likely to happen in the future.

Thank you IrvingChang for backing me up on this.

Sure.

tamjak:
I am not a shill

Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, but is not a duck.

On Obama from Wikipedia: "As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he cosponsored legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the current 110th Congress, he has sponsored legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel."

Let's see: legislation to "promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds" and regarding lobbying and electoral fraud" Yup, that proves it. He must be corrupt.

Wear your badge proudly, shill.

Definition of Shill:

A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims.

I am not trying to selll anyone anything. All I am saying is there IS KNOWN corruption in Illinois politics. Look at the trial of Tony Rezco. Rezco is connected to Rob Blagovich and to Obama. Blago's going down next. I am not saying that Obama is going down. I am saying that Obama is used to dealing with people in the manner that Blago and Daley deal with people. It's all dirty politics here with some notable exceptions, but that's the way things get done. Obama doesn't appear to be an exception, not that I can tell. If he was then WHY hasn't he slammed Mayor Daley and Governor Blagovich and the other dirty nepotists like Todd Stroeger? Why--- because he's playing along-- that's why?

I am not trying to sell anything, just commenting on corruption in politics in Illinois and that people should be aware of that when voting for someone from Illinois politics.

ooooh! he co-sponsored legislation and went to africa. ooooh!!! he wants to make the public account for spending of fed bucks that he jams down peoples throats in the form of earmarks. oooooh!

i just want to kiss him.

Re: Sure.

HAHA! I love that sarcasm, IrvingChang.

I just want to make sure that people who don't live in Illinois, don't know Illinois or Chicago, or are niave, take the time to read a few articles that John Cass has written or look at what seems a daily occurance in Illinois:

<link>

and how Obama is silent to Chicago corruption

<link>

Emil Jones mentored Obama and Jones is no saint either.

Guilt by assumed association?
by tonto_goldberg

Let's clarify one thing: I will only be voting for Obama if McCain selects a baboon like Mike Huckaby for his runniing mate. Romney would be good, Crist would be better.

You do understand that Obama's first political office was in the Illinois State Senate, right? You understand that Chicago politics and Illinois politics are similar but not the same, right? Is that all just too complicated for your broad-brush smear?

"Obama began his political career as an Illinois state senator, where he served from 1997 to 2004. He became known among Chicago political circles for using hardball political tactics. A Chicago Tribune article reported that he was able to get into the Illinois Senate by challenging the veracity of nominating petitions until his competitors could no longer legally be considered candidates and were knocked off the ballot.

There in office, he served the south side of Chicago, casting more than 4,000 votes [source: Los Angeles Times], including some on bills that required homicide interrogations be recorded, reformed campaign finance, allotted tax credits for the poor and eliminated racial profiling [source: New York Times]."

An Obama quote: "I know there are those like John Kass who would like me to decry Chicago politics more frequently, and I'll leave that to his editorial commentary,"

Kass would do better to concentrate more on city politics where he knows what he is talking about.

Great. So you're just another wannabe.
Re: Sure.

Once again, if he's SO GREAT, so much the crusader, why hasn't he called Daley, Blago and Stroeger out? That's the real question.
