This is SO important a comment that I am going to post it here, as well on the comment board for "Why It Is Taking
So Long For Africanized Killer Bees To Reach The United States"..
And here is the comment. Perhaps it is mentioned in the above article on the Killer Bees, (and perhaps not), a fact which was told to me a few years ago by a cab driver--who also happened to be a medical student. THEY HAD TRIED TO KILL THE KILLER BEES BY GIVING THEM A HUMAN AILMENT KNOWN AS ' MYASTHENIA GRAVIS '....WHICH WITHOUT MEDICATION, WEAKENS THE BODY TO THE POINT OF DEATH. It resembles curare poisoning, and, in fact, the antidote for curare poisoning was the start in finding a medication for MG. 80% of humans died before the medicine for MG was found...now, 80% live. ( I should know a little bit about the Human form of this ailment...as I've had a very mild case of it, since I was 4! It's no picnic, believe me....but I know I'm somewhat lucky, in that MG is the least serious of the neuromuscular ailments....and I've got a somewhat mild case, in any event. Still, there HAVE been times -- when I forgot my medication -- when I couldn't even get out of bed.....)
Unfortunately, the Killer Bees did NOT die off, when authorities gave MG to them. UPON HEARING THIS, THE 'ATTILLA-THE-HUN ' -PART OF MY BRAIN DEVISED SOMETHING EVEN WORSE FOR THESE MURDEROUS LITTLE ANTS. HOW ABOUT GIVING THE KILLER BEES AMYOTROPIC LATERAL SCLOROSIS....A.L.S.....LOU GEHERIG'S DISEASE?????? I got this idea AFTER I had finished my cab drive with the medical student....so I wrote to the US Interiour Department with this idea. They never responded.....so I am mentioning this idea here, on SLATE, in the hopes that authorities....or someone who knows authorities....can weigh the feasibility of this idea, and, perhaps, put it into practice!
