To qualify, my gist has to do with these two as "prototypes", not in terms of these two guys specifically. And....I realize that mention of these guys can engender all sort of tangents - they're both white, they're both men, what do they bring in terms of voters?...and that kind of thing.

But for the sake of THIS post, I'm interested in the contrast between what a VP candidate with military/security gravitas vs. a candidate with fiscal/economic gravitas, might bring to the Obama candidacy.

I think he'd do better with Richardson or Edwards.

Military/Security or economics will not get the votes or fill out the ticket. Appeal to southerners or appeal to hispanics will.

bloomberg is an asshole, i do not think obama needs him around. bloomberg goes over in nyny but wouldn't cut it west of the hudson. saw him up close and personnel in ny ny when i lived there.he is a business man that dabbels in politics. he is starting to honk off the new yorkers.
