honestly, i don't really want to cheat
by willep
I've been married for 8 years and with my wife for 12... and, I say this honestly and anonymously, I don't want to cheat. It's nice to flirt... really...

Bless you WillieP.

Me, too. I've been married for almost 15 years. It's fun to show off my legs in a short skirt (which still look pretty good, actually). I enjoy that look of interest that a man gives me, occasionally, to establish that I am still sexually desirable and haven't descended into the invisibility of late middle age . . . but, as for actually becoming involved in an affair with a man other my husband, absolutely not. Aside from the fact that I love him, and the betrayal would be unbelievably painful to both of us, I have way too much lose.

Sex is one part of marriage, for sure, but it's the part most easily replaced when & if the marriage breaks up. It's easy to find a sexual partner. It's not easy to find a real partner: a man who is a great dad, who wants to build something together, a life and financial security, someone to act silly with, go on vacation with, cook dinner with, laugh with and just generally have fun with (sorry about all of the dangling participles, I just can't think of a better way to express it).

I don't think it's possible to have all of that, and have other sexual partners. I just don't believe it, and I never will.
