Ok, I'll bite.
We, the women of the press, will be held to feel guilty, responsible, nostalgic, elitist. We will somehow have to explain ourselves. Anyone want to go first?
Hmm. What are you? How about insecure, afraid? I don't fault you for this but see through your veil of indifference because you see, I am YOU.
You work incredibly hard if not harder than the men in your positions. You want to be treated equally and most of the time you are except for when you aren't and then you blow it off ...again. So now you are faced to cover a topic that is deeply personal to you and you're afraid of being exposed as a feminist. You're above it all right ladies? I'll just back Obama- it's SAFE.
Possibly you're a more mature woman who stood up for the Equal Rights Amendment in the 70's but never really benefitted from it yourself and now are "so over it," won't put yourself out there again. I know you too. Thanks for the 70's. Today you make me sad.
I came to HRC's candidacy simply because she was the best candidate in every debate and I'm a moderate democrat. I was shocked and saddened by the sexism and race-baiting by the Obama campaign as well as the silence by you, the media, and the DNC on the sexism topic.
Don't flatter yourself with eliteism. Just another mask you wish to wear. If you're elite than so am I.
Hillary Rodham Clinton does not play it safe. She is not AFRAID. She does it for all of us who for one reason or another decide to play it safe. (you, me, our mothers, grandmothers, nieces, daughters and cousins.)
Hillary Rodham Clinton is also NOT ALONE. She has me and 17,000,000 Americans, men and women of many races and creeds with her.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is a Patriot, a true American Hero. She makes me proud to be an American and a woman.
