WHAT WE NEED by David Budbill

The Emperor,
his bullies
and henchmen
terrorize the world
every day,

which is why
every day

we need

a little poem
of kindness,

a small song
of peace

a brief moment
of joy.

It was well-deserved recognition, and past due. I think it's been at least a year since my last Poems-based Fraywatch column.

(Other People's Poetry) It's our attempt to balance out the loaded Tuesday offerings of Mr. Pinsky and we think it's a fine and very successful "co-op" group effort.
