I've enjoyed Seth Stevenson's writing for some time now but have noticed that since he's been back from his sabbatical some of the bitterness and cynicism has been lost from his writing. While I'm sure the break did him well personally his writing, while still solid and enjoyable, has lost the edge that made it stand out so far above the rest.

That said, as a person who doesn't own a television I adore the "Ad Report Card" as my only means of exploring television advertising. Stevenson brings these ads to life so well that I rarely even need to watch the accompanying video.
