a bunch of self serving pols, in love with the sound of their own voices asking questions for the sake of getting some face time on headline news. Sounds good in theory, only because you can picture the current white house occupant squirming under some additional scrutiny.

Hey Obama preaches "Change." If he gets the nod lets see him stand in front of Congress and be held responsible for his actions and sell his ideas himself. for a POTUS that would be a "Change". The same goes of McCain. From a management point of view, "peer review" is a good idea. I think McCain suggesting that as POTUS he would be willing to do this proves that he is willing to do his own dirty work and listen to Congress as a whole not just the Republicans. Sure you can say it is a ploy to get votes (and it may be just that). However if you believe that way, then anything and everything both Obama and McCain have said to date and will ever say until November ,is a "ploy" to get our votes and they have no intention of even trying to make their promises good. Actually this is probably for the most part true. My point being if the POTUS has to appear before Congress and sell his ideas and be held accountable for his actions (at least to a point) then he will be more responsible. Guess we'll see in Jan 09 and after.
