While you're kicking the can about gay..
by GWBasher
Marriage, our President is out there trying to make a case for his budies and partners in big oil to tear the crap out of the Alaskan Wild. He again thinks We the People are stupid. He and Dick Cheney are big oil. No if's and's or BUTTS. Instead of building electric autos he would rather install a few more Nuclear reactors so he can poison We the People. His family won't be affected. Are there any Superfund Sites in Crawford Texas?? Hell NO!! The only thing the man really can do well is murder our family members who serve in todays military. Hey Bush!!! LEAVE AND STAY IN CRAWFORD FOR THE REST OF YOUR TERM!!

I agree with what I perceive to be an underlying theme in this gentleman's comment: Neither the president nor the vice president (Bush and Chaney, at least) should interfere with the market in regard to the availability of gas and diesel fuel thereby letting the market set the price. What I don't understand is what they have had to do with oil and gas availability or price so far. The Chinese are selling everything they make to Wal-Mart so they finally have money with which to run factories and buy fuel to operate them. India, too, is requiring more of the world's oil. Other countries are as well. In fact, we are using more oil. So, the price goes up. This is Econ 101. Twenty-five years or so ago, the political leaders at the time---I would assume President and Congress---stopped the construction of nuclear power plants and refineries. Sometime back there, too, it was decided that oil companies could not drill for oil in Alaska or in certain areas off our coasts. Anyone with a calculator could have foreseen that there would come a day when the availability of oil and demand would clash. It's here. Econ 102. On January 4th (my birthday, by the way) 2006, when the Democrats took control of Congress, Nancy Pelosi commented that now ..."something will be done about these high gas prices..." Gas that day was $2.23 a gallon. I filled up today at $3.84 a gallon. Do I thank Nancy or do I send the Thank You card to George Bush? In the past few years, there have been those who have advocated increasing our production of fuel from corn and other vegetable products. Congress passed legislation giving a $.51 incentive per gallon to encourage farmers to turn their crops into fuel for automobiles. Bush signed it. The price of corn doubled and all the products which required corn for an ingredient or for feed went up. Countries relying on food our farmers grow began to have difficulty buying our food. What the hell did they think would happen? Econ 103. One final comment: Just when did President Bush and Vice President Chaney start building automobiles? On the one hand, democratic critics proclaim that the two together have accomplished nothing, can do nothing, are ineffective in every way but turn around and accuse them of making cars that burn gas rather than use electricity---like they control General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Kia, Subaru, Jeep, Chrysler--you have, sir, flunked Econ. there'll be another section opening up in the fall. Get ready.

First off, what's wrong with responsible drilling in the ANWR? What did we buy Alaska for anyway? We bought it for its natural resources, fool! That's why it was called Seward's Folly. Do you think I'm concerned about a few caribou that will be left alone anyway? You're correct in saying we need alternate energy sources. But in the meantime, we need oil and we need nuclear power. It can be done safely and will get us through until we can get feasible alternate energies online. I will not go back to the stone age just to please a few tree huggers. As far as Superfund Sites, I don't know if any are in Crawford, but I know they are all over Texas. If you remember correctly, Texas is where most american oil has been discovered. During that time, people were unaware that oil and many different things posed an environmental hazard. How do you propose we generate electricity to power these electric cars? There are brownouts all the time in Cal. and back east in the summer the power grids are always close to what happened in 2001. Now for the important question. What the heck does W have to do with homosexual marriage? There is no such thing and they are looking for special rights which I am unwilling to give them. Marriage has had one definition for thousands of years and that is the union of a man and a woman.

You answered one of your own questions. Texas is strune with old oil fields and messes made by big oil. So why would we want Alaska to follow suit. Get real. The market is making billions of dollars in profits. That is minus any crazy salaries a corp can pay it's executives. So who's zoomin who here??? I guess at some point unless they are challenged sooner than later, big oil may need to be NATIONALIZED. You know like Russia, Venezuella etc. I'm game for it...

All I have to say is look up at how much profit these oil companies are making, I believe I heard from a news channel that the oil companies have made triple what they made in 2007 compared to 2005, maybe even 2006. So why are we continuing to pay outrageous prices and why are we destroying Alaska, when we are apparently getting plenty of oil from Texas and other resources. I think we should slow ourselves down and take a nice bike ride or something of that nature. Why are we giving away so much money for oil, we we slow down the prices will have to drop and they can afford for them to drop that is for sure. And furthermore, there is plenty of oil spills in Texas and in other areas that are not being cleaned only because the companies don't want to spend the money that they do have. So again I ask why would we destroy more beautiful land and wonderful animals?

The Vice President can hold a meeting with big oil and yet keep the meeting and attendees secret from We the People who pay his paycheck and for the offices he works out of. These two will lie cheat and steal until they are stopped. Any sitting President can change big oils course by just letting go of some of the reserves. That is such a small thing but such a large statement. Bill Clinton did it. You defend these two because they are your mentors and employers. When Democrats take over the White Out House to turn it back into the White House in January they will have an open avenue to find out just how much corruption really went down. And I'm expecting a great amount. You see if they don't and try to use the same powers that so called Executive Bull Crap Privilege gives them, the Neocons will be crying wolf. Don't forget the President picks the AG. There will not be any more stone walling from the Judicial Branch of Government as they may find their legal heads in the noose also. While you wear blinders to not look at the way this past 8 years has gone for the majority of Americans, you promote all that you do and accomplish by using the same tactics. How many places will invite Bush and Cheney for a speaking engagement in New Orleans after their term is over? How many soldiers will never vote again? How many sick and handicapped patients can the VA handle while pushing it's older soldiers aside? We the people will rejoice when January 20th, 2009 comes around. The road back will be tough but it will not be the rich helping only the rich anymore. Only then you might look in a mirror. When you go on vacation stateside somewhere and you get mugged by someone who should be home or in some kind of sports tournament you'll remember these words. What goes around comes around and Most ignorance vincible ignorance.
