Homosexual marrage and the Election
by R Stuart
+1 Reply

Is California attempting to destroy any chance that the Democrats have to gain the presidency? Hillary and Obama are going to have to pretend they oppose any union other than a man and woman if they expect to have a slim chance to be elected.

Or they could be honest and come out for same sex marrage.

Homosexual marrage

(previously posted on another site)

On April 15 The CSSC destroyed the sacrament of marriage by a vote of 4-3. There I was, sitting in my family room, sucking on a budweiser in front of the TV, watching a ball game, when these 9 people dressed in black robes burst into my house and informed my wife and I that straight, heterosexual marriage was a thing of the past.

Well, needless to say, we were both shocked. I mean, did that make our kids illegitimate? Would we lose all of our tax exemptions ? Did this mean I could stop paying alimony to my first and second wives ? So many questions, my mind could note seem to cope with the consequences. Perhaps we could just pack up our things and move to Arizona or Nevada.

It's been severals days now since our marriage was destroyed, and I am finding that things are not really so bad afterall. My neighbor Bruce and I have been spending a lot of quality time together. And I find that I have this compelling urge to change the color of the drapes and redecorate the living room.

Tough choice there, R Stuart: honesty or winning the election. Tough choice.

How do you know their honest position on the issue?

I'm not arguing for or against, I don't have a dog in this race. It's just that if you really want them to be honest, then you have to understand that they might not agree with you.

I thought that they had both taken a position of supporting civil unions, but not "marriage". Allowing the use of the word marriage is a religious issue for many people. That's why it works so well for influencing those people who vote based on emotion.

where have you been????

Both Obama and HRC have clearly stated that they oppose same-sex-marriage.

As for being honest, well if they honestly support same-sex-marriage they are wise to be phoney about it since most Americans clearly do NOT.

Note I'm 100% for same-sex-marriage and I live in CA but CA is not Kansas, toto!

you are correct on their position
by jazzguitarman

You are also correct that NO ONE knows what their 'honest' position is.

My GUESS, is that this is their HONEST position since they both claim to be Christians and respect the bible (sadly).

Of course they could really be agnostic! That would be nice but I'm not going to bet on it.

None of the numerous agnostic politicians ever got elected by being honest about their religious beliefs.

Even many agnostics are queasy about supporting a politician that would admit publicly to agnosticism.
