A debate on the merits of diplomacy
by KHpoliticalinnuendohere
shouldn't exist.

I like that. Clear, concise and to the point.

'Nuff said.

'Nuff said?

No, it merits as much belaboring as possible. It is an indication of the total and utter depravity of the Bush administration that a debate on the merits of diplomacy does exist.

Obama 08!

okay, it's good that the debate exists, if only to expose the faulty GOP rationale. But I'd rather we face the fact that diplomacy has more than proven its merit historically, and have a full spectrum of politicians that understand that. So, it's still sad that diplomacy is under the microscope and an entire party is undermining its obvious usefulness.

There is a side of me that agrees with you, pwoxby, that NOTHING should be prohibited from debate, but trying to argue that diplomacy isn't worth trying? It's getting ridiculous.

The funny thing is that diplomacy essentially is debate. Seems like a redundancy, but that's how the administration administrates.

So pwoxby was debating my argument against the debating of diplomacy (which is a debate).

So many layers here, and not a single elephant in the room.....

Isn't about time for a new "tactic?"

di·plo·ma·cy –noun 1. the conduct by government officials of negotiations and other relations between nations. 2. the art or science of conducting such negotiations. 3. skill in managing negotiations, handling people, etc., so that there is little or no ill will; tact:

Take #3, for instance: I believe this is a critical point our nation must address. Ever heard the saying that goes, "Keep your friends close, but your ememies closer....?"

@ KHpoliticalinnuendohere:

No, no, no. I was reinforcing your point in responding to NightSwimmers point. Reread what I wrote. It is not ambiguous.

Cheers!

Gotcha : ) I was referring to our current policies, which need a slap in the face.
