I believe Bush was referring to Jimmy Carter on appeasement
by LaurieAnnM

in Israel the other day. Why the lately insane left wing media and Obama's camp is making this about Obama is quite telling though regarding how they see the world through a narrow lens where everything is all and only about him at all times.

Carter recently met with Hamas and this was reported widely and it did upset and worry Jews in Isreal very much.

It's obvious it was in this context that Bush was referencing the dangers of talking and appeasement and a 'let's all have a sit down and talk this whole attitude of if we just tell Hamas..'you hate the Jews and want them and the USA wiped from the face of the earth' silly stuff over." yeah that's work won't it? LOL.

Carter's starkly naive approach of thinking that if we just say to HAMAS ,Hezzbollah and Akmaa dinner jacket,"I am sure if we have a pow wow and chat we can all come to realize what a big boo boo you terrorists have made when you say such mean things'

That is what Bush was addressing. Carter's recent ridiculous appraoch to Hamas.

In that context Bush was very appropriate and trying to re-assure a very startled and frightened Israel based on carter's cozing up to Hamas. recently.

Someone needs to remind the left wing media and the Obama ites...the world really doesn't revolve around them and their annoited faux 'sweetie' talking Messiah Barack Hussein Obama.

I believe you are corrrect.I wonder what would have happened if Gerald Ford had been elected after pardoning nixon.Carters dalliance with the iran hostage situation allowed the actor ronald mcdonald to take office and appease bin ladens bunch when they bombed the barracks in Lebanon.clintoon was too busy satisfying his libido to catch bin laden even after he tore a gaping hole in the USS Cole.I saw it being repaired in Pascagoula,Ms. and it was an act of war.

The WTC/Pentagon attacks were certainly a deciding moment and were planned while clintoon was in office.

Just think of all the gas guzzlers sold during clintoons watch and I'm pretty sure tax breaks were given if you bought giant Suv's..this was a congressional boondoggle..

I agree also with you, if one has to identify and "name" some individual who has stature, influence and is well known.

But the general statement of "some people..." could only ignite the unhinged democrats who are running a campaign that makes them the center of the universe is a ludicrous thought. It shows how ill-prepared all of them are for global issues and discussion.

Frankly, if Obama wanted to say anything, he could have better helped himself by making a statement in which he agreed with the sitting POTUS. Show some respect, please!

That Pelosi, Biden, Obama, Clinton should think that a PRESIDENT will comment about the actions of some dimwits who may or may not be elected is false.

Presidents have power and influence and President Carter had political influence when he "actually went to talk with those people in Lebanon".

That was a major political insult to the present POTUS, Bush, and he was certainly not going to let it stand.

A POTUS doesn't get down into the slime and grime of the opposition party candidates and their partylicking dirt and campaign follies...he is above that, but the democrats are so salivating with the fear that they could lose the general election with their presumtive nominee, that they want to jump on anything they imagine as a possible "hard core 527 action" come this fall.

They [the democrats] are delusional as usual, and they should not be surprised in the fall when McCain wins the G.E.

And Obama knows that also

He just latched onto a golder opportunity to grab center stage while leaving Hillary out in the cold.

It reinforces the idea of his one on one with McCain.

It is a cheap political trick...and I am afraid that is the kind of trick he is used to pulling.

Better start getting used to it: a black dude with a Muslim-sounding name and degrees from Columbia and Harvard is soon going to be in charge. So sit back down, strap yourself in, and shut the fuck up, crackers.

A little more forceful than I would've said it myself, but essentially, he's right.

thank you Spandex good points all.

And on a side note It's evident that anyone who disagrees with the Obama bots are subject to utmost attacks and abuse. Like Jack Dallas, I am fully prepared and able to deal with such idiocy. Either by outright ignoring such idiocy or simply countering it with plain facts.

Thanks fpl. You know it's amazing how much the media plays into this huge fiasco of an election season. They actually leave any semblence of journalistic integrty behind in favor of the obfuscation of facts and the historical context of statements made about our long held committments and policies and the rationale for them.

Instead the media seems perfectly content to mislead and mis interpret and misappropriate statements in order to garner an emotional reaction from the very superficial easily lead masses by floating illusions of attacks where none exist at all.

Yep, jo. Obama is on TV right now giving a speech milking this for all it is worth.

It's worth a hand in the bots pockets as they send this millionare another chunk of their monthly gas bill to try and get their messianc sheister faux prince elected.

The bots will pony up again and send his campaign more money as the rest of the world laughs at them.

LOL! Oh thanks ..needed that laugh, fpl!

Isn't it amazing?

I get to chuckling too how like little one minded brainwashed ghouls they make all these weird little sock puppet nicks and go around down rating any post that argues against the effects of the Koolaide on them.

Hysterically funny if it weren't just really sort of creepy. lol.

Thx for the laugh again!

The first reaction from the Whitehouse was that the comments were aimed at Obama because Obama supports talking to Iran, which sponsors Hamas. It was only later that a correction was issued making the charge more broad based, i.e. to include all Democrats who favor talking with "the enemy" and Carter clearly falls in that camp.

Did Bush think he was being clever with his imprecise language? Well, it looks like it is backfiring.

Oil is up over $2.50 today and Saudia Arabia refused Bush's request to increase oil production. <link> At least part of the bad news is push-back to Bush's reckless language yesterday. So, how much are the American people paying as a price for Bush running off at the mouth. Bring it on axis of evil and to hell with the consequences. This is not a call for appeasement but a call for some adults to be in charge. It has been nearly 8 years since there have been any adults in the Whitehouse and we have all suffered greatly as a consequence. Joe Biden said it best.

DallasNE you know my first choice for POTUS was Joe Biden.

I saw his reaction to the remarks and I noticed he made it a point to say Hillary and/or Obama when he spoke of the future possible POTUS nominees. He had the class to not speak of Obama as if he were the nominee already and he mentioned Hillary twice as being a force of power within the party.

Biden is a political master and a Foreign Policy expert.

But,he also is a loyal democrat who knows he has to come out and defend against possible implications against any democrats..

In that regard...clearly Bush was generally attacking the democrats position on dealing with HAMAS. But not Obama specifically.

It's again very telling that this so rocked Obama world when Bush said that. In that way it is really backfiring on the Obama camp not Bush.

Again as an Ex POTUS Jummy Carter;'s recent actions are what so pissed George Bush off, far more than the lackadasical statements and cheap rhetoric that comes out of BO's mouth.
