Another Milepost On The Road To Demise
by peachfuzz

In 1950, we would never dared even have this discussion in public, much less even consider allowing such deviance to take place.

Care to look ahead to the next milepost? Today, we would never even remotely consider involving children in sexual activities. But stay tuned, the same forces that have brought this society to the disgraceful level we are at now, will take us there as well.

Don't believe me? Take a look at 1950 and see how far (..down) we have come.

Wow... I took a look back to the 1950's and you're right! We even allow negroes to eat right next to hardworking, honest, sure-he-slaps-her-but-sometimes-she-doesn't-listen white folks! MY GOD! We call this progress!?

Liberal hippies like peachfuzz give true social conservatives a bad name. Everybody knows that society has been doomed ever since we dishonored the gods by allowing the Christian mystery cult to flourish unchecked.

Wow ain't that the truth! I'm a little sick of the immorality that is rampant in this country. Permitting people to worship a divine being that required human sacrifice and the ritualistic consumption of the flesh and blood of that sacrifice. I mean... wow...

I think our demise is due to artificial sweeteners

We didn't have artificial sweeteners in 1950. You wouldn't EVER hear the audacity of someone IN PUBLIC or at a dinner party, much less a church social, say "pass the Splenda".

That's how I know.

cause now that stuff happens ALL the time and look what's happened to our country!

And don't even get me started about computers!

Re: Another Milepost On The Road To Demise

also, God didn't make artificial sweeteners.

God made sugar.

So anyone using Splenda is going against God's will.

And, that my dear, is why crime statistics have quadrupled since 1950.

Hey, I don't make the facts...I just report em.

I'd love to know what happened in your life to be so quickly offended by the mention of God or anything indicating a morality. It's kind of funny how the poster didn't mention that they were Christian. Most (practicing) Jews as well as Muslims (of the non-radical type) find homosexuality to be immoral. Their religion isn't under fire. Why?

How dare we talk about things in public. We should all be good christians and keep them bottled up until we feel the need to climb the tallest thing around and start shooting people.

Oh and how about letting women vote and be a funtioning part of society instead of just staying home and being baby machines. Don't even get me started on that.

What happened in my life? I was educated and learned to think on my own.

Also, I saw, day after day, Christians hurting people in the name of their religion in my area.

Jews and Muslims aren't "under attack" because they aren't attacking. If they want to start attacking the public rights of another individual based on their personal religious lifestyle choice, then you'd better believe they'd get attacked, too. Hell, Muslims don't even have to do anything but keep to themselves to be attacked (note all the people freaking out about women and headscarves in public places). So PLEASE do not begin the "woe is me" "christians are unduely persecuted" argument, which, admittedly you didn't, but I want to preemptively say don't.

by jmack329 05/16/2008 "I'd love to know what happened in your life to be so quickly offended by the mention of God or anything indicating a morality." I've always found that the truely moral people I've known have gone beyond needing religion as a crutch. Besides, there is little that is moral in the way most Christianity is practised in North America. Just yesterday, I had coffee with several accounting buddies and the conservation was tax evasion and fraud in organized religion. Its rampant and the public should know. "It's kind of funny how the poster didn't mention that they were Christian. Most (practicing) Jews as well as Muslims (of the non-radical type) find homosexuality to be immoral. Their religion isn't under fire. Why?" I'd suggest that you get to know people from these faiths. You'd find that they are indeed under fire. Mainly from the fearful racists and fundementalists.

This thread is hilarious. Keep 'em coming.

Personally, I'm holding out for a Constitutional amendment banning the making of graven images.

The demise of ignorance

I thought we might be seeing the first death throws of your sort of America, then I read your stupid post.

Anyone that yearns for the 1950's has dementia.
