Over 40 and having babies
by kderrick

I am 54. My Mom was 40 when I was adopted. However, my grandmother was 48 when she had my Mother. Although the numbers might be small don't discount older women having babies. My Mother was born in 1914 so I just don't think they were doing fertility treatments back then. In fact she is the youngest of 13 to live to adulthood. She had a younger brother who died of smallpox around 1920.

Don't be so quick to judge. And since when is it really any of our business. I think we should all leave something so personal alone. The effect this can all have on the children should be the main concern. My brother hates being adopted. I thrive on it. Some of my cousins discount me since I am "not really family". We need to learn to mind our own business just a bit more.

I think there are many more important issues than how a women gets pregant.

I totally agree! It is none of our business and I am not sure where the information came from regarding older woman not being able to conceive naturally after 45 unless it is somewhat of a miracle? Oh please...that is such crap. I was 45 when I had my last child naturally. It was not that big of a deal. It happens more and more of recent years. So, please let her be and it is none of our business and don't jump to conclusions on how she gave birth. Obviously, the facts in this article are not exactly true.
