Green Fades to Brown
by TheRanger

The celebration of green accomplishments is quickly approaching humorous.

Examples:

Fake grass

Burning vs recycle paper

Green sports

But the prize now has to go to the green car of the year with a whopping 21 mpg. Yes, that is right; a car with an mpg rating slightly above that of a 1951 Cadilac. Now that is progress.

I agree that this is pretty funny. Although, I admit, being a Ford guy and all, that a full-size SUV like the Tahoe making over 20 mpg is pretty cool. My full size F-150 never got higher than 18, and that was before the bulk of the 180,000+ miles were driven. I was lucky to get 14 by the time I had to trade it in. I suppose if you have the money, and you want/need a car that size, then this is a way to be more efficient. It'll at least save you a few bucks at the pump.

You are certainly welcome to your 150 if you can afford it. However, from the green perspective, the problem is that the concept of the Tahoe SUV is the epitome of what is not green.
