Poor Judgement

Being a Republican today is a sign that one is of the following types:

1) Religious fundimentalist.

2) "Southern Strategy" racist.

3) Wealthy and wants to pay as little taxes as possible and knows he can live in a gated community, with plenty of security.

4) Votes that way because "ancestors voted for Lincoln" and wants to maintain the family tradition.

None of these types use any judgement in recognizing the mess this party has created over the past 40 years and likely don't care. They are fearful of new ideas and change. Only type 3 has any "redeeming" qualities and that's only if you're a gold-digger.

So if you value a parter with no judgement and likely other issues, you probably are also lacking in that department yourself!

You've demonstrated that some people are hopelessly biased against anyone whose opinions differ from their own. Well done.

Also, interestingly enough, I don't fall into any of your categories. Care to amend your hypothesis?

allow me to quote winston churchill...."If you're not a liberal at 20 you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by 40, you have no brain."

Wow, thanks for telling me. I guess I'd better go find a church since, other than weddings, funerals and music gigs, I haven't been in more than 4 or 5 in the last 20 years.

2) "Southern Strategy" racist.

Again, thanks for the info. I don't even know what that means so I'll google/wiki that one and find out where they hold the meetings and get to one pronto in order to keep my voter registration up to date.

OK, now you're just crossing the line. We enlisted folks don't like the general public to know we're swimming in dead presidents.

Slawrence5:

4) Votes that way because "ancestors voted for Lincoln" and wants to maintain the family tradition.

As far as I know, and this is the truth, I am the first person to vote in my family. I know my parents never voted. One grandmother might have, unlikely but might have. Sadly, as a person who has spent my entire adult life serving a Nation built on the right to vote, my voting habits are a relatively new development (see notes on lazy parents above).

Thanks for the enlightenment.

I'm a conservative and anyone who thinks that the Republican party has conservative principles is too stupid for words. They are "self styled" conservatives that betray conservative principles at every turn. Conservative is just a term they use to give them credibility.

Basically, the party is a giant looting operation that has been kept in power by promising to throw a few bones to the racist scum, fundamentalist morons and other groups that would betray the Constitution and every scientific principle uncovered since the start of the Age of Enlightenment.

Since actually catering to their base would bring the country to its knees in months, to maintain power, they spend enormous sums on spin and provide many government jobs to graduates of 4th rate bible colleges.

The first order of business after January 20 2009 must be to root out these incompetents before they sink the country completely.

This is a great quote! Isn't that the case for most people as they mature? :-)
