Not Just Symbolic
by dbp1954
John Edwards earned 26 pledged delegates. Presumably virtually all of them will now support Obama. This is a major boost. Not that it really matters because he won the nomination a while ago.

I agree.

I also think that Edwards' endorsement is considerably more valuable now than it was months ago. Just think of the bad news cycle that was snuffed out by Edwards' move. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama had been saving him.

I guess I should clarify. It (the endorsement) doesn't really matter for the nomination, because Obama has already won it. But it probably will help, although not all that much, in November.

It will help ease Hillary's transition out of the race.

You'd think so but I'm wondering if John Stewart was right when he asked if Obama does win the nomination and the general election will Hillary show up at the inauguration saying "this thing isn't over yet?"

Recycled... but even more appropriate

So what makes you think that Hillary Clinton will ever concede? Right now Halliburton and LucasFilm are building an exact duplicate of the White House, Capitol Building and major Washington landmarks in a remote part of Northern Virginia.

On the opening day of the Democratic Convention Hillary and Bill Clinton will be drugged and kept unconscious until the day after Inauguration Day. When they awake, they will be told that food poisioning at an Inaugural Ball caused amnesia wiping out five months of their memory.

Of course, the Clintons will awake in the fake White House in the fake "New" Washington. Steven Spielberg will staff the White House with actors except for "interns" that will be provided by a less reputable part of the L.A. film industry.

So can the deception last eight years? That's the most beautiful part of it. It doesn't have to last eight years. At some point it just has to keep the Clintons secure in their own delusion that they know the difference between fantasy and reality. They will come to ignore anything that challenges their delusion. Just like they're doing right now.

Obama 08!
