It's worse than you think

Notice the "th" in "than" is entirely different--in fact it's anomalous--from the "th" in "think!"
This (there it is again! And again!) is all part of the larger plan that's been in process for centuries. It's about leading you down the primrose path. First you allow your "th"s to be compromised into a lesser form. Then (gulp!) you allow your "f"s to become "ph"s and it's all okay at first. What's a little irregularity in language between friends?
But the effect it has on the listeners' tympan--no wait--the listeners' uvula over centuries is devastating! Like regular genes this gradual grinding away of a victim's uvula is transfered to her offspring (which by the way is exactly why amputees have children who are also amputees! Think about that!) until you get to the 21st century and the entire population has vestigial uvulas never understanding their once grand role in coloring sunsets.
Sunsets used to be red. Red! Can you imagine? Now due to our worn down uvulas they appear mottled, grey and mostly plaid. It's just one of those things we live with day to day and never wonder about because it's always been that way. We know no different way.
Why I don't have a Ph.D. in Bead Stringing I'll never know.
