The father of the five year old is obiously an idiot but nonetheless handling a child's life and Prudence should have treated this a tiny bit more serious. If he is gauging his daughters future promiscuity by her stuffed animal habit then who knows what conclusions he has drawn from the sarcastic and unhelpful response he recieved.

I would think you would be concerned why an adult male is concerned with sexualising a five year old child and not the response Prudie snapped back. Get real, the guy is a pervert for even entertaining the notion unless the kid is muff humping her toys.

I agree that maybe Prudie should have given the guy some advice in addition to a sarcastic quip, but in the end, what can you really say to a guy like that? I mean, who the heck in their right mind thinks something like that about their young daughter?
