Edwards endorsement and southern racists

Fully 20% of West Virgina voters said that race was a factor in their voting last Tuesday. In exit polls. In person. Many more West Virginians probably feel that race is an issue but were too embarassed to admit it face to face.

Hopefully Kentuckcians aren't as narrow minded as West Virginians but if they are I don't think Edwards endorsement will suddenly change their minds. If they are slightly more enlightened though it might.

Regardless of an endorsement from the candidate that finished third should as will the 19 delegates. If they all go Obama's way that will more than eleiminate Hillary's slight gain from West Virginia and, what's more, stops her imagined "momentum" dead in it's tracks.

If Hillary is rational she'll drop out next Week. She'll win Kentucky and Obama will win Oregon and even without Edwards delegates he should gain enough delegates to make Hillary's tying his delegate count change from incredibly imporbable to impossible.

Of course that's only if she's rational.

Nice wishful thinking on your part. Hillary is in until the convention. And if they decide she can win, they will vote.

Florida and Michigan will be counted and that will give her the popular vote.

MaryAnne, I blame Hillary for deceiving you, but honestly girl, you have got to stop sucking it up.

MaryAnne is right. MaryAnne said that Hillary can win. She did not say that she will win.

Hillary can win, if the superdelegates follow the rules. According to the rules, Superdelegates are supposed to help choose the most electable candidate. They are not there to endorse primary/caucus results. They can vote against the primary/caucus choice.

I heard that Obama is padding the delegate roster by offering incentives to superdelegates. Gov. Neopolitano, Gov. Sibelius, and Sen. Macaskill have all been offered VP spots. Maybe he also offered it to Gov. Richardson.

Obama is a mean boy. Everybody knows it's Hillary's turn to be President -- it's not fair that he gets to take her place, just because more people voted for him. Hillary's votes should count double, and if she still doesn't get to be President she should start her own country without any stupid democracy and no mean boys.

You know that is not true, he did not offer everyone VP. No one ever does that. So state some true facts or do not write anything.

You have no facts to post so just make snide remarks.

Please tell me Hillary did not win all the needed states.

@ RM77:

"According to the rules, Superdelegates are supposed to help choose the most electable candidate."

Actually... no. There is no such rule.

"I heard that Obama is padding the delegate roster by offering incentives to superdelegates."

I once heard about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Turned out not to be true.

Obama 08!

Mary Anne --

When folks tell you to get your facts right, they are not being mean -- they are being fair. First, we select nominees based on delegates, not on popular vote. To do otherwise would be unfair to caucus states, which, after all, follow the rules (caucuses are an allowed way to select delegates). Obama has an insurmountable lead in the real race -- the delegate race.

Second, even if we look to "popular vote" (or if superdelegates do), Obama is still winning. Without Michigan and Florida, his lead is 1.8 Million (source Real Clear Politics). With Florida, his lead is 800,000 (same source). Because the Michigan election was so messed up, Real Clear Politics does not have a number that includes MI, but according to MSNBC, HRC received 328,151 votes in Michigan -- so even not counting the 237,762 people in Michigan who turned out to vote AGAINST HRC (as there was no one credible to vote for), Obama still leads by over 450,000 votes.

How exactly is this race not over?

I am beginning to use "Hillaryland" as a timely substitute for "LaLaland" -- and people get it, they really, really get it.

Beathen,do you have a sense of humor? I do,and use it in posts. I also use sarcasm quite often. And take the boards with a grain of salt. I am not really offended.

I have my views, you have yours and I do not agree.

BTW,the Convention and the Super delegates will choose the one they think most electable.

Of course they did give us John Kerry.

Agreed. They'll vote for the person that recieved the most delegates and the largest vote percentage.
