Nice Advice, But One Thing Missing ...
by dplentini

Iraq is already in chaos. Those who caution about a disaster from any pull out seem to forget that they have no evidence that the examples they point to would have been any better had the occupiers stayed.

Finally, if this is so desperate, why don't they advocate an immediate draft to provide the troops necessary? We can only field the current forces for so long, and even the Pentagon admits that they'll soon have no option but to withdraw.

Staying may be the better option, but we can only do that if we plan for it. As they say, "amateurs talk stragegy; professionals talk logistics". This war has been designed and run by amatures (read: Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld). The end will likely be ugly, because we didn't care about the realities of nation building.

Very true...i think the war architects thought this would be some kind of grand, noble adventure, burning a path of righteousness. Fine. But righteousness can make a mess that needs to be cleaned up, if there is no plan for afterwards.
