This is very big news and speaks volumes. It is about time some of these really big superdelegates come out and support Barack Obama.

Good for you John! I knew you'd do the right thing sooner or later.

Just to be clear, I don't believe that Edwards is a superdelegate. I'm sure that his pledged delegates will be interested in his endorsement, though.
Big surprise? (Not.)

The only surprise here is that he didn't do it earlier on, like say, the day after he pulled out of the race. The endorsement of Edwards, like the disloyal turncoat Bill Richardson, actually means very little at this point. And it's likely it may hurt Sen. Obama in the FAll, should he actually be able to take this nomination. "Take" being a polite word for "steal."

Ok. I'll bite. Why would it be stealing? Stealing by getting more votes? What a despicable tactic.

LOL. Your candidate lost.

Interesting that an individual deciding to support one candidate over another is consider treasonous by some.
Indeed

Edwards was a candidate for the nomination, himself, so it wouldn't be a superdelegate, himself.

Nonetheless, his endorsement will carry a lot of weight.
