Is "hope" an issue?
As for Iraq, not sure Obama wants to take his Bush/McCain Iraq as Hong Kong of the ME vision to the voters and explain why sixteen more months of making the same mistakes is good. Biden's partition plan is the only one that makes sense and Obama, having voted funding for the Blunder, lacks clean hands.
As for the economy, not sure Obama wants to go there, either, with his plans for tax credits, tax deferments, keeping some of Bush's tax deferments, and more spending. Ronald Reagan won and Obama will keep the Free Lunch and high commodity prices.
As for abortion, it's fairly much a non-issue any more. The Democrats have lost enough elections on it and Democratic women may just need to learn to use birth control. I don't see much change on it and the Democratic supermajority in the senate will be able to force a moderate SC candidate on McCain, just as they did on Ford.
As for vets, that's the last place the able-bodied slacker wants to go while campaigning for CiC. Best just to ignore that one. If nothing else, people might want to know why he and Pelosi and Reid dropped the ball on this one.
In short, Obama should keep a respectFul distance from the issues and just concentrate on marginalizing the majority of American voters while pandering to the rest.
