I
am tired of the Clintonistas saying that they will vote for McCain over Obama. Just go ahead and do it -- you don't need my permission. Do
you think that the fear that you will vote for McCain will make Obama's
supporters rethink their support for him -- Oh yeah, I had decided that
Obama was a better candidate for me, but nmdemo would vote for McCain,
so, by gosh and by golly, I'll throw that aside and support Hillary.
If
you honest-to-God believe that McCain will be a better President, then
that's who you should vote for. But, if you vote for him because you
are in a snit because your candidate -- despite the Clinton brand, the
support of the DNC superdelegates (the only group in which she still
leads), the fund-raising apparatus -- could not win the nomination,
then you may want to rethink your voting strategy. McCain will not end
the war, will work to abolish a woman's right to choose, will be
ineffective in dealing with the economy, may lose his temper at an
inopportune moment and get the country into trouble, and will pack the
Supreme Court with Alito and Roberts clones. So, if you believe that
Rev Wright's intemperate remarks overwhelms that possible future, go for it.
Just don't come back crying when things have turned out worse than you
imagined.
