Gross is grossly out of touch

Maybe he should run for office, that's the kind of people who seem to occupy most congressional seats.
First, as others have remarked on the "hypercompetent" Fiorina: I guess Gross is redefining competent, much less hypercompetent. Fiorina was anything but competent. She was a disaster, and her grasp on complex issues was non-existent. She was a salesperson who never, ever should have been promoted beyond her first job, whatever that was.
Fiorina is "the most prominent surrgoate on economic issues"? since when does she know anything about economics? What has she ever done to demonstrate she has any expertise in that area? Almost destroying one of the greatest companies in the US?
"she casually swatted McCain's pro-life record, the Republican Party's
harsh anti-abortion platform, and Cindy McCain's refusal to release her
tax records out of the park" Swatted? You mean she ignored them, just like all politicans ignore questions about indefensible positions.
"She went far beyond her core competencies of economics and trade" Who says she has any competency in economics and trade? This is just another Repuplican tactic of stating a politician is an expert on something, when there is no basis in reality.
"Fiorina is also working as a McCain surrogate partly because she hasn't landed another executive job since she bounced from HP" Well, you got that right. Almost. Except "partly" should be changed to "only". Nobody is going to hire her as a CEO, she is a politician, who knows little about everything, and only cares about "staying on message"
At some point, I'm just going to have to stop reading Gross's column, if he's going to continue to make up stuff like this. If he wants to comment on what Fiorina said, that's one thing, but to portray her as some kind of expert or wizard is fraud (especially on economics!), and revealing about Gross's own knowledge.
