What's the matter with West Virginia?
by ralpher

So Clinton has a 40 point lead in the state. It will be one of the only mostly white states that votes against Obama. Besides doing well in states with large African American populations, Obama has handily won nearly all of the states that are mostly or nearly entirely white, including Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Maine Kansas, N. Dakota, Minnesota, Idaho, Wisconsin and Washington. Some speculate he does well because race is not an issue in these states, so attempts to make race an issue or "fear factor" simply do not work. West Virginia is 97% white. So, with Obama being the presumptive candidate, what's West Virginia's problem with Obama? And Kentucky's?

Is it race? Obama will be the Democratic candidate; Democrats who vote in primaries need to learn to get behind their candidate. If race isn't the reason, I don't see another factor.

Who knows -- maybe Hillary promised them indoor plumbing.

What IS diffference between Black and White? That is the question. It has nothing to do with West Virginia except for the the fact slaves help build the country you enjoy during the mid 1800's.

The innocent critics that live so comfortably and as the educated as Sen. Barack Obama who are so unfamiliar to any part of Virginia. You could say he has slaves blood on his hands just like you.

Might that answer your childish question.

I know it's "OH NO" you are pure, thats OK, Virginia has bore your burden forr 140 years, think nothing of it.

"They are the (white) hard-working Americans, the WHITE Americans, that I, Hillary (white) Clinton have been (white) talking to (not black). (I'm not black, just white, not black). I'm (white) Hillary Clinton, and I approved this (not black) message."

Spirit of 76, your post makes no sense. Obama already won Virginia by a margin greater than he won Maryland, and he captured a majority of white vote. Clearly West VA and VA have little in common.

another factor....hmmm,...elitist, private schooling in Hawaii; inexperienced, less than 2years working in senate (2005 & 2006- the balance has been spent campaigning); arrogant, typical of most men-gee, I been a senator for 2 years, so I must be a president; wife, first time to be proud of this country, black separatist; snubbing and shooting the bird at Hillary; lying about being a professor; lying about not knowing about Wright's sermons; and now, the endorsement of Hammas.

Could you see that there might, maybe, perhaps, be other reasons than race? And, btw, I like the guy, but he's got an avalanche of problems that has the RNC slobbering for him to win the nomination; kinda like pit bulls on a rabbit.

And, btw, I like the guy, but he's got an avalanche of problems that has the RNC slobbering for him to win the nomination;

You're a fucking idiot. The GOP has been desperate for Hillary to win since the beginning. Really, if you can't even be bothered to learn the basics, why embarass yourself by posting?

I think Hammas and other middle eastern terrorist organizations have been ecstatic with the current administration. We have not only increased there recruiting but took our troops to Iraq so they don't even have to come over here to kill our citizens. They would love to see McCain elected to continue our current policies.

You're a fucking idiot.

Gee, now that's really intelligent posting. The question remains, what other issues besides race. Now that was the basics of the post, and since you've just bare your own ass, how about learning the basics of civil disagreement?

if it walks like a duck,.....

btw, moron, this is what classism sounds like. Like I said, there's a problem with elitism in Obamanics gang. You've just quite nicely proved the point. Does it make you feel taller to think that maybe you've got indoor plumbing and maybe some don't?

West Virginia has nothing to do with Virginia. They are completely different states with completely different outlooks and pov's.

Northern Indiana and Indianapolis have little in common and different pov than rural Indiana.

Pennsylvania is said to be for Obama in the cities Clinton in other areas.

West Virginia and Virginia had little in common when they were one state.

Grryl, so in otherwords, misinformation that was posted on the internet? Those just aren't good or educated reasons.

West Virginia is the heart of coal-mining. This plays heavily to HRC new base - uneducated, low-income whites. A lot of these votes are emotional, not based on substance. I know that BHO gets grief for getting support from blacks and educated/ affluent whites. I acknowledge that quite a bit of the black vote is probably emotional as well. However, I would much rather have my leaders selected by people with the mental capacity to make an informed decision. The only thing that I ever read about W. Va. is the occasional mine collapse or that horrid story about a white family that kept and tortured a black woman in their home. They must be shocked that their voting will have some resonance this time.
