Ignorance and Confidence

"to succeed in life you need two things: ignorance and confidence." - Mark Twain.

While this is funny, I think that there is real value in being unsure of your limitations, in pressing forward with an aplomb that can only be born from naivete. It allows you the freedom to pursue, and dream, and discover without the debilitating thought of 6 billion other people doing it better than you.

Steal this illusion from us, and we'll be left only with what we think we're capable of in life. I've made a career out of dreaming beyond my abilities.
