Off topic - help with recliners
by IncogNeato

Does anyone know of a left-handled recliner? Surely there are enough left-handed people, or people missing or with injuries to their right arms that somebody somewhere makes them? Or a means to adapt a right-handled recliner to make it easier to reach?

Do I need to start a business making only left-handed furniture for people, to get what we need?

Can you special-order one?

I can't believe that some of the big furniture manufacturers don't do that already. I would go online rather than to a store to find that out. After all, furniture stores are mostly about selling what's in their warehouse, and their commission salespeople know that.

If not, then start that business! Oh, if only my MIL and I had acted on the shower cap thing....you know, using hotel shower caps on bowls in the fridge...we'd been doing that for YEARS before Glad came along and started selling them in the grocery stores.

Yes, we're still bitter. We wanted that Hawaiian estate, dammit! ;-)

HEY! I have two. They're cheap pieces of crap we found at Sam's Club, bought for the basement when we have teenagers all over the house. They were made by Bassett. They looked like piles of beige poop after three days, 'cause the fluffy part started to wear off, but they were comfy. They likely make nice versions...if they still make them at all. This was a long time ago. Good luck!

Thanks. I've e-mailed the company. Of the 2 other companies I've e-mailed, neither had anything which would work.

Hey Neato,

I just read a design page that mentioned L-Z-Boy will build right- or left-handed recliners. No word on the additional cost.
