Good line from Maureen Dowd about WJC...
by Commander Guy

About Obama possibly offering Hillary the VP slot....Snarky!

Aside from the delight Bill would get from living at the Naval Observatory and having a huge telescope to window-peep with, there wouldn't be much joy in Hillaryland.

I'll be real surprised if he offer her the spot. Even if he did, I don't think she would take it. NY Senator probably carries more clout if you aren't Dick Cheney.
I'm thinking Secretary of State

Edwards as Aty Gen, Richardson as Sec of the Int, Wes Clark as Sec of Def - a veritable who's who of ex prez canidates
I disagree

While many of these people are high profile and it may look like a dream team, we don't need a high profile cabinet. We need a combination of seasoned bureaucrats and policy wonks, boring old experts who can help formulate policy based on reason.

All more qualified for the presidency than Obama.

Except for one pesky detail

None of the aforementioned have shown the ability to galvanize the voting public like Obama. It might sound minor to you, but the ability of a leader to actually lead is something that needs to be considered.
Well, Obama does have that Black Vote locked up
by HellFire
Only trouble is, while Blacks make a large Voting Bloc in the Democratic Party.... there are just so few Blacks in the Nation overall.
Not true
by Smiley1979

Throughout the primaries Obama has done very well with black voters. However, he's also done very well with almost every other demographic (aside from the neanderbillies) at many points throughout the campaign.

And keep in mind that only 15% of Americans think we're on the right track. That doesn't bode well for mccain, who is promising a continuation of the same policies that the vast majority of America opposes.

Maybe if you got out of your bunker more often, you'd have a better feel for the pulse of the nation.

Blacks make up merely 15% of the Population
by HellFire

Pushing Senator Obama forward..... a mere 15% of the Population.

I do keep numbers like that in mind.

Unfortunately for Hillary.....
by ZealotforTruth

BILL will be the deal-killer for her serving as VP.

He just can't be trusted to not go off the reservation. Imagine the embarrassment of a President Obama, when/if Bill's on some "State Mission" with Hillary, and he says something completely contrary to the administrations current policy....

And even Bill Clinton supporters should be able to admit that this would be a VERY real possibility.....
