Barr
by nonein2008

This is just part of the people rejecting the big 2 contrived candidates. 2008 should be the year of 3rd party. If it pulls votes from the big 2, the better off we are. We the people are tired of the Republicans and Democrats, they no longer serve us.

If Barr pulls votes from McCain, he did not deserve them in the first place. For too many elections we have been faced with no choice. We are told vote for A, even tough he is bad, at least B does not get in office. Not such a good reason to vote for A. The Republicans will try this same old thing again, saying you must vote for McCain, just to keep Hillary/Obama out. Instead why don't the Republicans put up a valid candidate people can vote FOR.

I love people who say they want to vote for a third party. the reason they give is because "this party doesn't serve us anymore." I believe that in a way also.. but what in the heck makes you think the so-called third party will serve us...think about it, if the third party was in the mainstream way of thinking, then it would not be third it would be first or second. There is a reason the libertarians or communists or the moonies never garner that many votes, people dont think like thye do.

With that said, please go to your email and send out a new email telling everyone not to drive on wednesday because that will show the oil companies we mean business and will hurt their pocketbooks..Libertarians.. sheesh...Ron Paul, yeah he was popular.

I don't agree with you that the "big 2" choices in candidates are contrived. It should be obvious that the last two presidential elections offered choices of vastly different approaches to the country's problems. As does the upcoming election.

Is there any question that had Al Gore won in 2000, or Kerry in 2004, things might very well have been quite different than they are today?

I know that hindsight is always much clearer. But, the problem is not as much with the choices offered as it is with an electorate the knows more about American Idol contestants than the positions of the candidates. People in this country are too easily fooled and manipulated by the system.

Either democrat, in my view would be much better that either McCain or Barr, but to my mind Obama offers a chance to bring something completely fresh to the table. To me it's worth the gamble.

Lets see, a POLITICIAN deciding to run for an insignificant third party's nomination is part of the PEOPLE doing something. Nice logic.
