I don't even know who most of them are. Bayh? I don't THINK so. Feinstein? You gotta be KIDDIN' me -- I would rather have ten Hillaries as VP.

Why is it that you have Hillary allies as possibles but don't even mention Edwards -- is not endorsing anyone somehow worse than campaigning for Hillary?

Why these dull people to run with a cool character like Obama? Here's my candidates for VP.

1. Oprah! true, there is no balance and she was in the Reverend Wright's church too, but she would win all the daytime soccer mom suburban housewives' vote -- just a huge section of the population.

2. Caroline Kennedy! It would be a direct link to Camelot, but maybe you need someone from a swing area...

3. Elizabeth Edwards?? Sort of like Oprah combined with John Edwards, and she's acceptable to Hillary, so they say. Actually, EE is kind of a serious choice. but what about her illness? And John would be awfully embarrassed they passed over him.. Hmm...

4. Arianna Huffington!!! Yeah! O'Reilly and Hannity would take it as a personal insult! but she can't -- she's a naturalized Greek, isn't she -- not a natural born citizen. Oh well.

5. Someone from Hollywood -- Julia Roberts comes to mind, but only if she played the Erin Brockovich role exclusively, complete with swear words -- it would win the trailer park crowd, but is she even a Democrat?

6. I really would have picked former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman, a really personable character, and from the Deep South, except he's out on bail and probably can't leave the Southern District of Alabama -- makes it kind of hard to campaign...

On the Hollywood angle, actually I think SIGOURNEY WEAVER is politically involved. She's a bit old at 58 (i'd really prefer someone more of Obama's age group) but she would sure lend the "fighter" image to the Obama ticket. Someone who can beat the Alien Queen in hand to hand combat should have no trouble with a wimp like Osama Bin Laden. And she looks something like Kennedy, too. Have a phone ringing commercial and then have Sigourney appear in her wife-beater black top, ready to duke it out with whoever's on the phone...

Ed Rendell is the obvious choice. I don't think that means that he's inevitable, but if an electoral algorithm was employed, he would probably come out on top. I would put Sam Nunn further up the list.

I don't think that Obama will make a cute, gimmicky choice.

I had Webb and Sebelius at the top of my lists. I like the idea of Rendell a lot. I thought he did a fantastic job of fighting for Clinton without dissing or buring bridges with Obama. And this would really help in PA.

I know you are kidding, but I think he either goes for Virginia, Pennsylvania, a woman, a Governor, an experienced foreign policy hand, or a Hillary supporter. Who is an Edwards supporter who could be considered?

I'm not kidding -- not really. Obama needs someone equally young and dynamic, not some old boring political hack. Look at all the past elections the Democrats have blown by following conventional wisdom. Gore was as experienced as you could get, but was a bore. Kerry had plenty of experience but was a disastrous choice - he looked like a cross between a mortician and Gumby and was consistently miserable and uninspiring. Edwards had plenty of charm but was stuck with the mortician-Gumby as the lead, -- no wonder he seems fed up. I don't know who the hell a good VP would be, but for sure it wouldn't be some of these usual suspects you folks are suggesting, like Dodd, Biden, Nunn, Bayh... It would be nice if the individual had some political experience but Obama's message is new politics, not old. Thankfully, Obama's team will be doing the picking and it won't be the kind of algorithmic balancing act that's been used in the past, at least I hope not.

You know who had a lot of experience? The captain of the Titanic. He was the most experienced captain in the fleet.

I'm thinking Bill Richardson but, frankly, I think John Edwards might be the best choice.

Sorry, Adkisson, I'm not trying to highjack your thread....

I supported Edwards for president before Obama. I think Edwards would make a far more useful Attorney General.
