What's On Your iPod?

Enough of this crap Obama v. Hillary v. McCain. It's divisive and a lot of people are totally stupid about it. Let's have the healing begin. You know the drill by now: list the first 10 songs on your music player, set to shuffle, or (to prove I'm not an elitist), any other music you are currently listening to in your car, in your padded cell, etc. I'll go first.

1. Baby I'm Yours -- Barbara Lewis from Soulful Love.

2. Collide -- Howie Day (shut up, I like it.)

3. Car Crash -- Matt Nathanson from Some Mad Hope

4. Do the 45 -- Ryan Shaw from This is Ryan Shaw

5. Trusted -- Ben Folds from Songs For Silverman (I do love me some Ben Folds).

6. All At Once -- Bonnie Raitt from Luck of the Draw. (This is such a beautiful song, it always moves me almost to tears).

7. Up to the Mountain -- Kelly Clarkson and Jeff Beck from Idol Gives Back '07. (Shut up again. This Patty Griffin song is amazing, and Kelly killed it. The highlight of that show, or any other live music show, in the past 5 years).

8. Supercollider -- Fountains of Wayne. Truth be told, I'd fast forward through this one now. Tired.

9. San Francisco Bay -- Richie Havens Live.

10. Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby -- Emmylous Harris, Allison Krause, and Gillian Welch from the soundtrack to O Brother Where Are Thou, one of my alltime favorite Cohen Brothers movies.

All right, I've laid my music out there. Your turn.

Your #10 is now stuck in my head, which is actually a blessing because previous to that it was a Kenny Loggins song (gonna take you right in to the danger zoooooone!) that woke me up at 5:30 instead of my alarm.

I don't have an iPod. In my office, I have a record player with dual cassette deck and AM/FM (stereo!) radio that someone donated years ago. In thatstereophonic marvel, I have a mix tape I made in college. On that, I have a lot of angst, innuendo, silliness, lust, bile, and joy.

Wow – this is a very cool thread! So I shuffled all my songs and this is my “Top 10” – crazy!

I think it has a lot to say about the Primary!! LOL!!

(I’m going to make a playlist for this!)

Thanks rundeep!

2. One Sweet World – Dave Matthews Band from “Live Trax”

3. Friend Like Me – from the “Aladdin” Soundtrack

5. I’ll Be Home for Christmas – The Carpenters

6. Fire and Rain – James Taylor from “Greatest Hits”

7. These Foolish Things – Rod Stewart from “It Had To Be You”

Kenny Loggins?

Of "Hit me with your leather, and I'll let you wear my lace" fame? Wow, bright, time to change the channel!

Angst Innuendo Silliness Lust Bile and Joy would itself be a magnificent album title. I'll credit you.

Well, that's pretty shuffled

artandsoul. Nice list (PS, time to uncheck the holiday selections, though I too have failed to do that completely). Please tell me you have a small child though, otherwise I'm headscratchin' on Aladdin.
No, that was Don Henley.

It's a radio alarm clock. Sometimes it decides to play the radio instead of the alarm. I leave it on a crap station because the crap wakes me up.
I met Don Henley once.
by rundeep
He was a jerk. (Surprised? Why was I?) So I guess I refuse to credit him with anything.

What's an iPod?

Some sort of cassette player?

Thank you

Usually it's Iron Maiden taking up all slots at the top of my iPod list but Deep Purple has been getting a lot of play time lately (Highway Star is probably the best song in the world to run to--on a treadmill or running outside it's the best!)

Other stuff: Judas Priest, Sting, VH, Sammy Hagar, you know, the old stuff no self respecting man would admit listening to anymore.

Talk to Schmutzie

You are stuck in the 70s, he's a believer in the 80s. Have radios been banned in your worlds?
Dude,
by bright_virago
I already said that.
No, silly.
by rundeep

it's where you keep the iPeas.

If you are politically motivated, you can keep it on your i-Rack. <link>

I see you sitting around

with snow-white waist-length hair in a tie-dyed shirt, wearing some engineer boots and carrying a longneck.

By the way, since you are just about my age, I hate that image. Buy a damn iPod, would you? They're cheap now and you can capture the entirety of the 80s (or at least what was good about it) and keep it in your pocket. Think of that.

No iPod, no radio, no CD player, no TV. I value silence above all else since it's in such short supply these day.
