Two Other Things The Powerpoint Leaves Out
by dsimon

The first thing the powerpoint presentation leaves out is the logical flaw in assuming that just because some voters prefer Clinton over Obama, those voters won't prefer Obama over McCain. That's simply an unwarranted inference, one the Clinton campaign has made over and over again in wrongly extrapolating primary results to the general election.

The second thing it leaves out is that, to my understanding, the representatives in NY-24 and NY-19 are not that endangered. Though they should be targeted races, Republicans have had a tough time recruiting top-tier candidates to run in either of them. (The webside opensecrets.com, which tracks candidate fundraising, shows no one raising money so far to oppose Arcuri in NY-24.) Those two districts make me wonder whether the others would truly need Clinton at the top of the ticket to make the difference between losing a seat and keeping it.

and the third thing

And the third thing it leaves out is that the electorate in the primary is not the same as the electorate in the general election. Obama has considerable appeal to independants and even some Republicans who may not have voted or been allowed to vote for him in many of those primaries. And Clinton will energize the GOP base like nobody else possibly could.

If she thinks that lame argument is going to impress anyone, she's nuts. I guess it's all she's got though.

I thought you were going to talk about sample size. It seems to me that drawing these ominous pictures could only be possible if you were talking about something that adds up to the number 20.

Hillary can't show us a pie chart with, say 200, because in the realm of actual physical reality, she loses.

Your points, however, are spot-on.
