Burma/ Myanmar
by thdcnx

Rachel - thank you for writing about this appalling situation. Hundreds, even thousands of people are dying right now of things we can prevent, but the delusional militarists who call themselves their government won't accept help.

It's indeed galling that the world has come to Burma's doors with food, water, medicine, and skills to help, and the madmen not only refuse it, but go so far as to "seize" the cargo!

There are obviously no easy ways to deal with this, but it's also sad that our government has been entirely incapable of coming up with any approach to Burma.

Our govt. doesn't want to do anything I'd say.

Otherwise they'd air drop the supplies right on the heads of the needy and tell Myanmar that if they attack the airplanes dropping supplies it will be considered an act of war on the international community.

What is the U.S doing in the UN Security Council anyways in regards to Myanmar, nothing?

We're telling them in a very stern voice that we don't like their junta very much and if they don't do anything about it we'll...uh tell them again in a stern voice.
