Food addiction
by Ripley
The biggest problem with trying to regulate "food addiction" is the fact that we actually NEED to eat food to survive. We don't need cigarettes or alcohol, so cutting these things completely out of our lives is no problem (at least theoretically). But we DO need to eat to live, so if this really is an "addiction," it will be much harder to treat because of the fact that we can't really cut food out of our lives, can we?

The point is not to "cut food out of our lives" ... rather, the anti-addiction forces (like fascists everywhere) want to ban pleasure. For, while it's true that we need food to live, it is also true that we don't need food that tastes good.

Now, shut up and eat your tofu!
