How clever they are. A voiceover by a youngish man with an Hispanic accent who never, ever, says Barack Obamba or simply Obama, but who invariably uses the full Barack Hussein Obama to wring out every drop of Hispanic antipathy toward not only black candidates but towards people with Muslim names.
And the clip claims Obama is a socialist, but what extreme right winger doesn't call any Democrat a socialist? And it insists that Obama hates whites and hates wealthy, even though the target audience, I assume, is Hispanice, not white, and at most middle class, not the wealthy.
So what we have here is the classic wingnut claims of socialism and "class warfare," with added elements of racist and anti-Islamic fanaticism.
Good job. That should swing a lot of Hispanic voters over to McCain. But most Hispanic voters will never see the clip. Only ultra-conservative wingnuts will see it, and they already hate Obama. The only question remaining is whether they hate McCain more. My own opinion is that much of the Republican base is going to sit out the election because they will not be able to bring themselves to vote for MCain the maverick and they certainly won't vote for a Democrat.
