So we sue OPEC in an American court, they are found guilty, we inflict treble damages, and, then what? Oil prices go up to absorb the cost of the damages? How in the world are we going to enforce the ruling? Oh and I forgot the part about how they are our creditors...

Straight, simple and oh sooo to the point and OPEC knows this. However, you left our a possible way to get to OPEC. I say "possible" because it would take a lot of cooperation from people who are normally too bush fighting each other, plan to fix the problem we are having with OPEC. (1) Explore and tap into our own as yet untapped oil supplies. This is where it begins to get complicated. In order to do this we will in some cases, have to tell the conservationists to sit down and shut the hell up. (2) End the war in Iraq and Afghanistan in a quick manner that is to our strategic advantage. (3) Once we have the new oil wells on-line and the supply of domestic crude oil is no longer a problem, build more refineries and place them so that supply and demand is not a problem and in such a way that they do not pollute any more that absolutely necessary. Once again tell the tree huggers to sit down and shut up. (4) Once all this is done tell OPEC to take a hike, because we no longer need their oil. (5) Take the troops that we had in Iraq and Afghanistan and have them assist the INS to get rid of the 12 million plus undocumented immigrants and send them back home. (6) Use the troops to back up border patrol and effectively seal our borders against persons entering illegally. (7) Last but not least take the financial savings to our government by no longer being in Iraq or Afghanistan and use it to assist the people right here in the United States who are homeless, have no health care and are starving, and to create ways to get away from oil dependency. This is such a simple fix to our problems, yet at the same time nearly impossible to put into play because it would mean many or our own government officials would no longer be on OPECs payroll.
