Round of applause!
by bms2000

Exactly what I have been trying to say for years.

I stopped eating meat at age 6. Why? Because (brace yourselves) I don't like it. It tastes vile to me. When I got to be a grown up, I tasted it a few times - nope, still vile. Plus I'm cheap - meat is expensive, and I like eating lower on the food chain as a general principle.

Now, I truly do not care what others eat (provided I don't have to pick up the tab for your filet mignon). But I have also had the experience of people looking at me like I have 20 heads when I say I am a vegetarian.

We don't subsist on plain lettuce leaves. Ever eaten a bean burrito? Fettucine Alfredo? Cheese pizza? Then you ate vegetarian food. And lived.

Tortillas made with lard, btw

The 19 other heads people are seeing are the 19 irrational reasons people stop eating meat. That's why they (including the author) attract attention to your one rational head.
