an other problem
by makedoniko
So, I completely agree that a larger issue is the Hubert Humbert and Lolita photo of BRC and his daughter, but I think there is still another problem. Has anyone noticed how much Miley Cyrus, in the "scandal" photo, resembles the little girl on the Les Miserables promotional items? Is that by chance, or is the photogropher playing with a copyright infringement or plagiarism or something?
i definitely thought of Les Miz
by deduction

when i saw miley's photo. but strange that you're the only other person i've heard that from! Liebowitz often uses iconic images to base her photography on. I think she'd be smart enough by now to avoid copyright infringement. Besides, would it count if it was "art inspired by" an image?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the photos, personally.

I too thought of Les Miz immediately! I don't think there's anything wrong with the photos - they are art. But, just as there is some art I don't allow my 4yo to view - I don't let her read Vanity Fair either. As long as that kind of art is not marketed to children then I don't have a problem with it.
