I don't know if Michelle Obama hopes to be an "involved" First Lady, as Hillary was. I do know that she seems to support Barack's unspoken belief that his candidacy is a calling, and he is in some way
a "savior" of our country. Michelle has said that her husband would never allow us to "return to our former lives, uninformed and uninvolved". Presumptuous to be sure. And there is a presumptuousness to the Obamas. No one is entitled to the Presidency, or the nomination for that matter. And no one has the power to heal racial divides and tensions with stately words and paternal patience. It would be naive to think so....but the Obamas are naive as well. Senator Obama may perceive himself the "fanatic whisperer" or the "racist whisperer" but again it speaks to delusions of grandeur. The fatal flaw in Barack Obama is his grand world of lofty ideas and beliefs is being pummeled by harsh, unbending realities that simply refuse to play nice.

These 'realities' are destroying the reason for a Democratic nominee. Someone has to win the lottery right? Why would it be delusional for Obama to want to be president but not for Dick Gephardt, Ted Kennedy, or Al Gore?

Write a book, get it published and have it be a best-seller. Better yet, get elected to the US Senate without being married to the former POTU, for crying out loud.

Stop and think: who do the gazillionaires want in power? $enator McCain? The multi-millionaire Clintons?

I agree with the topic in the news article. Remember Michelle's infamous statement "for the first time in my adult life I am finally proud of USA?" She and Barack both have chosen for the past 20 years to associate very closely with Rev. Wright. While Oprah Winfrey realized very soon into her membership with the church that Rev Wright's influence was a negative and unwanted element in her life, the Obamas chose to maintain their relationship. Which obviously means they both agreed with at least some of Wright's ravings and rants. THis is most certainly fuel the Republican machine will use against Obamas in the general election. At least Hillary's and Bill's garbage has been aired so much it no longer carries a punch. The republicans want Obama to win - they already have their game plan down to the last detail.
