The Wright Stuff
by thomaspain
I find the ongoing media focus on Jeremiah Wright to be somewhat schizophrenic. Of course, he's a ranting fool, with his views that AIDS was inflicted upon the black community by our government, like Tuskegee, etc. But there isn't a minister in the country who doesn't believe in the virgin birth or that Christ rose from the dead or that the body survives death, and a whole host of other absolutely ridiculous things that are contrary to science, to common sense, to logic. So why focus on Wright's ridiculous beliefs when so many others are deserving of equal time, not to mention the gasbags on the radical right, like Hagee, or Robertson. The answer is that a non-Christian can't be elected in America, and that Obama's real fault was to genuflect to the conventional will, lest heaven forbid we identify him as a Muslim, or, even worse, one of those atheistic elites (probably Communist, like Bill Ayers) that Hillary keeps warning us about. Considering all this I'm surprised that Hitchens wants to ride the Wright train, when we really need to be reminded that it's time to grow up, to put our Bibles down with our guns, and face the uncertain future we, not God, have created.
Re: The Wright Stuff
by question?

one of those atheistic elites (probably a Communist like Bill Ayers) - Are you talking about the spoiled rich kid who dressed up a thrill motivated crime spree with left wing for "the people" bull and then murdered a working class bank teller? Is this the Ayers who regretted not planting more bombs and harming more innocent people? You can have the bible, but I am keeping the gun.
