I'll be in favor of "home care allowance"
by deduction

only if they will give it equally to men AND only if i get an "allowance" for NOT having kids.

i'm not against parents getting help, per se. Though i question where the money comes from and i question why we keep giving people money for things they choose to do (like have kids, make poor investments, take over other corporations- ok, that's another topic...), but leave out huge segments of society. Single, childless people get shafted a lot- part of why there's a backlash with some people who become extremely anti-parents or anti-children.

yes, EXACTLY. The more we ask from the government, the more the government will control us. And, those of us without kids use less of the resources, so WE should get the tax breaks, not those who use more.

You know that we need children in order for our country to survive, right? If no one had kids, our poplulation would eventually die off. Or at least be transformed completely by immigration from other countries where they still have kids. It's hard and expensive to be parents of very young children. We have to choose between working and spending a lot on daycare or not working and losing the income. Neither is ideal, and tax breaks don't make up the lost income by a long shot. And I don't even want to think about college. I'm not complaining. I love my kids and would do it all over again. I'm just saying that for this country, children are an investment in the future, not just another mouth sucking up resources. That is why it is in the government's (and your) best interest to do what it can to help parents raise smart, healthy, well-adjusted children.
