Is America a sick country?
America, this great country, the most powerful country in the world, this nation, the sons and daughters of which are probably the most gifted of the planet… Is America sick? Sick with its important political figures? Where have the George Washingtons and Abraham Lincolns gone? Where have the Trumans, the J.F. and B.F. Kennedys gone? Why are there no more Martin Luther kings, even? Through which secret cellar window have their spirits vanished and left to the drift a people who have turned out to be possessed like that of any “Banana Republic”? As if the spirit of God had never breathed over its land, had never blessed the work of His children, and as if there had never germinated a flower where tears and drops of blood had been drunk?
No one is prophet of his country, they say. But one must believe that it is only Americans who seem incapable of distinguishing the winding roads used by the providence to make His paths perfectly penetrable for common mortals. It is true that Evil forever prowls. It is as well possible that the current American prophet might not be an Obama, and that Evil turns out to be the power of money and interests which, without qualm, can hold the entire American population hostage.
So, honestly, yes, honestly, if the American people are like any other, why on earth might the task of leading the world remain reserved for them? Why would the entire planet, then, need to suffer from their transgressions, distractions and depravity? I have found an answer: because America’s sickness is due to its lack of great “shepherds”- those for whom the flame glows at just the right time to lead their people down the right paths.
The pragmatism of Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. preserved the kingly heritage of J.F.K, but then, pfft… Bill Clinton lost too much time repairing the damage of his impatient and light “fly” to be able to protect his country from the perils that he could foresee coming down the path. G.W. Bush, poor guy, has remained in the kitchen for nearly eight years without having ever been able to find the cooking pot in which the food was burning… Today, at the crossroads, the American people have not even yet realized that their salvation and that of the world should be made up by a rejuvenating vision of the business management of the country.
So, honestly, yes, honestly, if the American people are like any other, why on earth might the task of leading the world remain reserved for them? Why would the entire world, then, need to suffer from their transgressions, distractions and depravity?
Since there are a bunch of recognized great women in this country, who don’t tend to speak with ridiculous baring she-wolf teeth to shaving any given segment of population from the earth’s surface, who don’t believe that torturing human beings can be justified, and since none of these are potential candidates for president, I dare not think of the other alternative: that the spirit of God has ceased to breathe over the world…
